DCPLA celebrates turning 5!



The City declares July 11th DCPLA Day in Daly City and presents a proclamation to the Board of Directors.


The Board also presented a check for $9,400 to the city to fund some program equipment at the Westlake library; for the fish tank maintenance and some funds for the adult summer learning program.

Board member Tom Nuris appeared before the Daly City City Council on Monday, February 22nd to present a grant of $17,500 for digital media equipment for the John Daly and Westlake libraries.

Danford Foundation - $2,500

Town of Colma - $1,000

Kaiser Permanente - $1,000


This grant raises the amount given to the City over the past few years to a total of $98,500.


Board President Marie Villarosa presented a check for $15,000 to library director Joseph Curran at the July 13th City Council meeting.  This grant is to purchase a 3-D printer ($5,000) and to refurbish the children's area at the Serramonte library ($10,000).


This brings the total granted to the City by DCPLA to $80,700 since the organization's inception.

Thank you so much for the Daly City Public Library's generous donation of books to the KCBS Read and Pass On Program!! We have brought books and DCPL brochures to 4 different Bay Area festivals now for a total of 40 hours of time spent giving out free books!
