Job Title: Community Outreach Worker


DCPLA is seeking to hire a Community Outreach Worker who is a reliable and detail-oriented individual to grow our community’s presence and fundraising efforts.

Location: Daly City, California
Position Type: Part-Time, through the end of 2025
Timeline: Position to be recruited and filled by April 2025
Compensation: At least 20 hours per month, with a stipend of $1,000 per month

Job Summary:
The Community Outreach Worker will play a vital role in enhancing community engagement and support for DCPLA. This role involves developing relationships with current and past supporters, gathering community insights, and assisting in the implementation of a community-directed action plan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Community Engagement:

    • Conduct outreach to current and past supporters to gather feedback and ideas on increasing community participation and support for DCPLA.

    • Help recruit and retain DCPLA supporters and members in annual organization memberships.

    • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and organizations.

    • Foster communications with local elected officials and business leaders.

  2. Idea Collection and Action Planning:

    • Compile the ideas and suggestions gathered from the community to develop a comprehensive community-directed action plan.

    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director in processing and refining gathered ideas.

  3. Implementation Support:

    • Assist in the proposal development and initial implementation of the action plan, aimed to commence in Fall 2025.

  4. Sponsorship Solicitation:

    • Support the Board of Directors in identifying and soliciting potential sponsorships and additional community support for DCPLA activities and initiatives.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in community outreach, public relations, or related fields.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage diverse groups and foster relationships in person and virtually.

  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.


Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with community organizations and local resources in DCPLA’s outreach area.

  • Experience in program development and implementation.

  • Knowledge of fundraising and sponsorship strategies.
