Job Title: Community Outreach Worker
DCPLA is seeking to hire a Community Outreach Worker who is a reliable and detail-oriented individual to grow our community’s presence and fundraising efforts.

Location: Daly City, California
Position Type: Part-Time, through the end of 2025
Timeline: Position to be recruited and filled by April 2025
Compensation: At least 20 hours per month, with a stipend of $1,000 per month
Job Summary:
The Community Outreach Worker will play a vital role in enhancing community engagement and support for DCPLA. This role involves developing relationships with current and past supporters, gathering community insights, and assisting in the implementation of a community-directed action plan.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement:
Conduct outreach to current and past supporters to gather feedback and ideas on increasing community participation and support for DCPLA.
Help recruit and retain DCPLA supporters and members in annual organization memberships.
Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders and organizations.
Foster communications with local elected officials and business leaders.
Idea Collection and Action Planning:
Compile the ideas and suggestions gathered from the community to develop a comprehensive community-directed action plan.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors and the Executive Director in processing and refining gathered ideas.
Implementation Support:
Assist in the proposal development and initial implementation of the action plan, aimed to commence in Fall 2025.
Sponsorship Solicitation:
Support the Board of Directors in identifying and soliciting potential sponsorships and additional community support for DCPLA activities and initiatives.
Qualifications:
Experience in community outreach, public relations, or related fields.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to engage diverse groups and foster relationships in person and virtually.
Organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with community organizations and local resources in DCPLA’s outreach area.
Experience in program development and implementation.
Knowledge of fundraising and sponsorship strategies.
