A generous donation to the DCPLA by a member has established the Gordon L. King Memorial Grant. This grant was presented to City Council of Daly City to go in its entirety to the Bayshore branch, where it will be used to purchase outdoor Wi-Fi and to build and diversify their starter collection of Playaway Launchpads for checkout.

When asked why he chose the Bayshore branch in particular for this grant, the donor replied that he wanted to show the branch some extra love and has a grandmother who was a stalwart support and advocate of libraries, as they are a great way to help provide badly-needed access to educational materials that may not be available at home or even some schools.
